Are You Planning A Escape-Themed Party?

Have you been to an event where the focus of the fun was on solving your exit from an escape room? If so, maybe you had such a good time that you have decided to host your own escape room party. If you've only heard of this type of event, you're in for some enjoyable planning and for a very memorable time with your friends. From sending out clever escape-themed party invitations to planning escape-based activities, here are some ideas that might help you.

The Invitations - Obviously, you could phone or text your party plans to those you're inviting to your escape-themed party. You could even send a cute e-vite. But, what's the fun in that? Wouldn't you love to build anticipation for the party by sending out invitations that reflect some of the activities you'll have at your event?

For example, number little squares of paper from 1 through 5. In the invitation, direct the recipients not to open the second square of paper until they have figured out the clue that is given in the first paper. If you live on a street called Royal Lane, for example, the first clue could have the depiction of a crown with words that say something like, Head to the location where a king and queen live.

The second clue might indicate the time they are supposed to arrive at the party, but given in a riddle. If the party will begin at 7:00, for instance, the words on the second paper square might say something like, Rhyme a number with a celestial place and arrive at that time. Of course, they will probably find out very soon that seven and heaven are rhyming words.

The Activities - Consider games that are based on escapes. For example, divide your guests into two teams. Start in one room of your home, maybe the living room, with the point that everybody has to pass a certain test before proceeding to Room Number Two, which might be the family room. The test might involve the solving of a very tricky riddle.

Think of ending your escape room party by watching a movie together. The Great Escape, Escape from Alcatraz, and Papillon are just a few classics that would fit the theme of your party. Or, for a movie full of laughs and a big puzzle, watch It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
